There is another crossing over

Prepare yourselves because you haven’t been this way before..
“Yet there shall be a space between you and it (the ark) about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Joshua 3:4-5
I believe many are coming into a crossing over period, one that not only marks a new season but a new way and for some, a new territory. It hasn’t come easy, it’s been marked with consecration. It’s been marked by a stripping away of idols, ideologies and identities that were hindering our walk.
The old ways have been falling away. God has been putting His finger on cycles, patterns and behaviours that He is breaking us out of if we allow Him. He is transforming and sanctifying us to walk in the way.
He is untethering us and removing us from ties that bind.
The cycle is breaking. The crossing over is coming.
You can’t do what you’ve always done if you want to go where you’ve never been. You’re being sharpened. Refined. Fortified for the new.
This is a preparation time as we ready ourselves in the Lord for places we haven’t been before. I had a dream the other night where I was writing down lessons for this season. I believe God has revealed keys of preparation in this time:
1. Hold fast to the promise and confess them with your mouth - the enemy will always try to oppose the word/s you’ve been given. Speak out what you know is truth, remember and recite His word.
2. Fast and pray - fasting is key for preparing for what is ahead. It blocks the noise and sharpens you spiritually. You will not be found wanting
3. Sanctify yourselves - I’ve researched what this would have meant in that time and it’s likely they would have washed before they crossed over. Sit with the Lord in repentance and ask that He washes away what needs to go.
4. Shake the dust off your feet - shake off the past seasons where you weren’t received, where you made mistakes, where things didn’t work. Shake off the old.
5. Prepare in His presence. Spend time in praise and worship, be led by it. Stay close to Him. Draw near to Him. Don’t go anywhere His presence isn’t.
