Remember Lot's Wife

A little while ago my husband and I were praying and he heard so clearly ‘Don’t look back’.

This word came with conviction and instant freedom for us and I felt to share today as some of you need to hear it.

For us, it was as though God was delivering us from a situation that He had already delivered us from. He was delivering our mind from being stuck in a loop of the past He then saw a picture of Lot’s wife and began to share about God’s heart to keep us looking ahead and not turning back.

After some time I realised this wasn’t just a word for us but for many.

God has delivered you from a situation that you continue to amplify. You may not be looking back at a city of sin but perhaps you’re looking back at the past God freed you from. Maybe you’re trying to make sense of something God moved you out of.

Maybe it’s a relationship.

A season.

A job.

A ministry.

Whatever it may be for you. Trust God to be God.

Lot’s wife was frozen in salt because she looked back at what had been. Looking back when God has said move forward will keep you frozen.

Letting go of what you’ve been rescued from keeps you moving.

Don’t allow your fear of the unknown cause you to meditate on the past and replay history over and over.

Sometimes retrospect is actually a prison designed to keep you stuck.

Don’t dwell on what’s been, feed on His faithfulness for what’s ahead.

“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬-‭13
